New Rush Hall School (NRHS) is a special school for pupils aged 5 to 16 years who have social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties (SEMH) as their primary area of need.

NRHS is located within the London Borough of Redbridge, although, has pupils that attend from a range of neighbouring boroughs including, Barking & Dagenham, Essex, Enfield, Havering, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

Our 80 pupils across the school (28 Primary & 52 Secondary) are supported by a team of over 65 staff, including Senior Leaders, Pastoral Leads, Curriculum Co-ordinator, Therapists, Mentors, Specialist Teachers, Instructors and Support Assistants.

Our staff team takes pride in providing a high-quality, personalised, inclusive and inspiring education to all pupils. Running parallel to our academic offer is a programme of wrap-around pastoral care which ensures our pupils’ emotional, social and mental health needs are met.

We challenge pupils to take responsibility, modify their behaviour, improve attitudes to school life and make academic progress across the range and breadth of curriculum opportunities available. In addition to classroom-based learning, pupils are provided with enrichment opportunities throughout the academic year.

We passionately believe that by assisting pupils to overcome their personal barriers they will be best placed to access meaningful education, develop their aspirations and become contributing members of society.
