About Mossbourne Riverside Academy

Mossbourne Riverside Academy – Inspiring Excellence

Mossbourne Riverside Academy is a thriving primary school that upholds the Mossbourne Federation's ethos of exceptional education for all pupils. Situated within the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, MRA is committed to ensuring every child receives a first-class education. With learning at the heart of everything we do, MRA continues to raise expectations and achievement in Hackney and its neighbouring boroughs, underpinned by the belief that all pupils can fulfil their true potential.

Our pupils benefit from engaging lessons, a vibrant curriculum, and access to world-class sporting facilities. Our dedicated staff ensure all pupils are cared for in a warm and nurturing environment, with the highest expectations of behaviour and manners.

The Mossbourne Federation

The Mossbourne Federation is a thriving network of Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form academies providing the children of Hackney with an outstanding education from 4 to 18 years of age. We deliver the highest quality of teaching & learning across a broad curriculum, underpinned by high expectations of every student and by our Federation values of: Excellence, No Excuses and Unity. Our staff strive towards a common goal: being the best we can be, ensuring every student, every teacher and every member of staff fulfils their potential. We value continuous improvement, are always learning, and always looking for a better way to do things. We are a supportive family that shares experiences, knowledge, and ideas in an environment that welcomes input and challenge.

Set within the metropolitan boroughs of Hackney, East London and Thurrock, Essex, all Mossbourne Federation academies are in close proximity to London Overground stations, providing a no-fuss commute for colleagues living in other London boroughs. London’s fashionable ‘East and West Ends’ are also only a short distance away.

The Mossbourne Federation is actively seeking to increase the proportion of our workforce who come from diverse backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from people of Black, Asian, and other minority ethnic descent. Injustice, discrimination, and intolerance go against the core tenets of the Mossbourne ethos. We actively reject discrimination in our academies through continuous review of our working policies & practices across the federation, including at board level. We are committed to developing and supporting inclusivity, diversity, and anti-racism in every facet of what we do.

The Mossbourne Ethos

The Mossbourne Federation is the realisation of Sir Clive Bourne’s dream to provide the children of Hackney with an outstanding education. Over the past twenty years, the Federation has nurtured Sir Clive’s dream by fostering kind, courteous, hard-working, and well-rounded learners by providing an outstanding education based on the core values of ‘Excellence’, ‘No Excuses’ and ‘Unity’. Through upholding these core values, Mossbourne schools are, without exception, exceptional.

The Federation’s calm working atmosphere creates well-rounded individuals who excel in the arts, on the sporting field and academically. All learners, regardless of ability, benefit from the innovative and enlightened approaches to teaching and learning within The Mossbourne Federation.
