Welcome to Moat Farm Infant and Nursery School

Our school motto is ‘At Moat Farm Infants everyday; we learn, achieve, have fun and play!’

A successful and happy school depends on all of us working together and our key priority  is to ensure that Moat Farm Infant and Nursery School continues to enable all children to succeed and reach their full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual development.

Working in partnerships with parents really is, in order for children to have a positive and rewarding experience.  I strongly believe achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand to ensure each child’s excellent progress.

Built in 1938 the school comprises of twelve classrooms.  There a number of teaching rooms along the corridor including small group intervention rooms and the school. The whole school is built around the playground area. Moat Farm Infant School is situated in a pleasant site, surrounded by gardens, grassed areas and trees, which are shared with Moat Farm Junior School. 

The children are grouped into classes, all named after British wildlife, according to admittance years. All classes are of comparatively equal ability ranges.

Our Early Years Foundation Stage, occupies a separate purpose built building.  Our Early Years Foundation Stage offers 2 year old, 3 year old and 30 hours Nursery places and 120 Reception places. Children usually enter the Nursery at the earliest opportunity following their third birthday. They are admitted into the Reception classes in the September following their fourth birthday. These two years are part of the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS). The children are brought into the main building regularly to participate in music, assembly, stories and visiting entertainment (e.g. theatre groups, puppets etc.)
