On behalf of the children, staff, and Governors, I am delighted and proud to welcome you to Milton Park Primary School.
We are an inclusive school that values the contributions made by each child and their family and are proud of the cultural and linguistic diversity of our school and its community. We also have a 16 place Inclusion Centre which takes children from all over Portsmouth, supporting pupils whose primary need is in the area of social communication and interaction, this includes children with Autism Spectrum Condition.
We believe that our school is an inspiring place that energises learning and encourages children to develop an enquiring mind, a desire for knowledge, high personal expectations and understanding, and respect for others. Our children receive a creative curriculum that is engaging and memorable and encourages children to want to learn, including via a range of enrichment opportunities that are intended to be both inspirational and aspirational for all of our children. We also recognise that good self-esteem is essential in enabling our children to lead happy and successful futures and we aim for all in our school community to “learn, grow and shine and be valued members of society”.
♥ The children here at Milton Park are at the heart of everything we do and every decision within the school is made by firstly considering what is in the best interest of our children. Our values of respect, pride, community, kindness, positivity, and inclusivity are an integral part of school life and support the ethos of the school. We want to ensure we are providing our pupils with the skills required to live in modern Britain as responsible citizens.
Working in partnership with parents is crucial if we are to ensure all of our children feel safe, happy, valued, and achieve their full potential. We, therefore, aim to work and communicate with you in an open and honest way to ensure your child’s progress and development are at the heart of the decisions we make. The most effective education is achieved when staff and parents work together in a genuine partnership which results in all children being proud of their work, personal achievements, and their school.
