Welcome to Merritts Brook E-ACT Primary Academy website, giving you a flavour of our school and how we put our values into action.
 
I feel proud and privileged to be Headteacher of Merritts Brook E-ACT Academy. I am extremely passionate about teaching and learning and consequently have very high expectations of both pupils and staff. I strongly believe that every single child should feel safe, happy, valued and cared for so that they are nurtured to flourish during their time with us.

I have worked with E-ACT since January 2013. E-ACT are a forward thinking Multi-Academy Trust and share an aspirational vision for all their academies. We align our school values with the shared values of E-ACT, these are:

Our vision is for children to achieve, aspire and exceed. Our aim is to inspire all children to have a love of learning and thirst for knowledge. We want our children to become outstanding future citizens who are confident, resourceful, resilient and responsible.

Our mission is for all pupils to be equipped with the necessary tools to be successful in the next stage of their life. Our values are equality, resilience, respect, responsibility, pride, aspiration and reflection.

At MBA the standard of education is high. Teachers are committed to ensure that the curriculum is carefully sequenced, is engaging and stimulating, providing a variety of learning experiences that enhance the young lives of our pupils. The children are eager to learn and want to do well and are proud of their achievements. We feel it is imperative as a school to raise self esteem, develop a core set of values and to encourage aspirational thinking.

We are committed to the safeguarding of our pupils and the safety and well being of our children remains our highest priority. We have a structured approach to safeguarding through our dedicated safeguarding team led by our Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Teachers have a real passion for raising the achievement of our pupils. All staff have high expectations, this results in pupils rising to the challenge, working hard and consequently making accelerated progress. Pupils enjoy coming to school! We are proud of the positive relationships between pupils and staff. At MBA we promote enjoyment of learning through exciting and engaging lessons.

All pupils are expected to try their best and to make the right choices at all times, thus promoting good behaviour for learning.

We encourage children to be the best version of themselves.
