Marleigh Primary Academy and Nursery opened, for children aged 3 to 11, for the first time in September 2022, at the heart of a new development off Newmarket Road, Cambridge. As of February 2023 we have about 60 pupils but are growing quickly, and have an eventual capacity of 420 pupils plus 52 in our Nursery.

We benefit from a fantastically designed learning environment, with bespoke furniture, a range of break-out spaces, including dedicated STEM room, fresh new resources and rich outdoor areas including large forest area. Our curriculum is structured around the concept of ‘A Sense of Place’. This includes building children’s sense of their place within the Marleigh and wider community and an understanding of their rights and responsibilities, of global citizenship and sustainable development. It also includes an understanding of Marleigh as a new development and the stories of those who have come to live there, but also the history of the locality and legacy of the Marshall airfield, on which land the development is built.

We are forging exciting links with local businesses and organisations, particularly in order to bring to life the application of STEM in our surrounding area. We have a great team of staff who are always keen to look out for one another and inspire the best in colleagues and children alike. We are also supported by a fantastic central team within the successful and growing Anglian Learning MAT.
