Lostwithiel Primary School is a vibrant and nurturing academy located in the heart of the historic town of Lostwithiel. From early years foundation stage (EYFS) through key stage 2, the school is deeply committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
At Lostwithiel Primary, every child is valued as an individual, and we celebrate their unique strengths and talents. The school prides itself on delivering a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum designed to inspire young minds and prepare our pupils for future success.
The school takes full advantage of its surroundings, incorporating outdoor learning opportunities into its curriculum. Giving children access to green spaces to explore is a powerful way to teach children about wellbeing - both physical and mental. Our Forest School curriculum is founded upon our core values: pride, passion, partnership, perseverance and participation. Children grow their own food and learn how to care for the environment.
Dedicated staff, supportive families, and strong community links are central to the school’s success. The school has an active school council who work to implement change in school and in the local community in partnership with Lostwithiel Town Council.
Lostwithiel is incredibly proud to have achieved the Silver Respecting Schools Award, which was given in recognition of how the school puts children's rights at the heart of all we do.
The most recent Ofsted inspection in 2022 reported Good in all areas and noted that parents say staff go the extra mile to make sure pupils are cared for and happy.
