Linton Heights is a co-educational school for children in years 3 to 6. The eight classes in the school are built round a large central hall, used for assemblies, lunches and PE. The eight classes are arranged into an Upper School of two Year 5 and two Year 6 classes and a Lower School comprising two Year 3 and two Year 4 classes.
All classrooms have laptops and interactive whiteboards. We operate a mobile computing suite comprising of both laptop computers and iPads that are operated via wireless links.
As well as a library, the school also has a playground, a large playing field and a learners’ swimming pool. In 2016 we developed an area of our grounds into a Forest Schools area which is now used both in lessons and at playtime.
A strong feature of the school is the music provision. Lots of our pupils have small group or individual tuition from peripatetic music teachers and there are many opportunities for performances in the Friday afternoon Ceilidh, concerts, school performances, assemblies and other events.
Extra-curricular provision is exceptional with a variety of after school activities, such as: gymnastics, cross country, choir, dodgeball, football and netball.
Sporting opportunities are very good and the school has a high level of success in competitive events held with local primary schools. Children are also offered opportunities to attend an active residential visit in Year 5 and 6 and a safer cycling course in the Upper School. All our children receive swimming lessons during the summer term each year.
Most of our pupils come directly from Linton Church of England Infant School into Year 3 and our Year 6 pupils move on to Linton Village College.
Linton Heights Junior School became an academy in November 2016. It became part of Anglian Learning in April 2020. For more information about Anglian Learning, please visit: www.anglianlearning.org
