About Liden Academy

Welcome to Liden Academy. At this school, our children are at the centre of everything we do. We are fully committed to our school mission of ‘Growth through Excellence,’ as we take huge pride in improving the progress children make both academically and socially, in a happy and caring environment.

Our school and pre-school are very much at the heart of our local community, who play a really active role in supporting our learning. We offer an ‘all-through’ education with many of our children starting pre-school at 2 years old, preparing them for a smooth transition to school. We are also part of the wider education community and have close links with our partner schools in Excalibur Academies Trust and other Swindon Schools.

We bring our curriculum to life and use a range of exciting and engaging experiences. For example; building and experiencing life inside an Anderson Shelter in the school grounds, dissecting a sheep’s heart, working with chemistry lecturers from Bristol University, and having opportunities to experience and take part in a wide range of sporting activities. We offer a variety of after-school clubs based on children’s and staff interests and also promote sport through inter-school competitions.

We are extremely fortunate to have a wonderful Early Years dedicated setting, and one of the largest and well equipped outdoor playing areas in Swindon, with excellent facilities such as our own woods, wildlife area, two large playing fields, outdoor multi-sports arena and climbing park.
