Idyllically nestled in the southern foothills of the Cotswolds and less than a 30 minute drive from Bristol, Bath and Gloucester, Leighterton Primary School is  easy to reach and are just 20 minutes away from the M4 and M5 motorways.

We are a happy and popular school in the local area and are a very close community, with children, the teaching team and families all working together.  Our site is spacious and our main school building has been recently extended.  The classrooms are large and airy and we have a huge outside space, including a forest school area, all of which are used for learning and for play.

In June 2021, Ofsted judged Leighterton Primary School as ‘Good’ and we are proud that they reported that, ‘Leaders and staff are united in their ambition for pupils to succeed. They set high expectations in all aspects of the school’s work, which pupils rise to seamlessly. Behaviour in lessons is excellent. Pupils are attentive and always try their best. Adults’ expectations are high and even the youngest children can focus on the task in hand in a sustained manner.’

From September 2023 we will have six classes – Reception and Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 in single aged year groups and Year 5 and 6 in one class.  None of our classes is larger than 20 children.
