I am delighted to welcome you to Leeds City Academy and introduce you to our Academy website, a great source and important reference point for key information and guidance for parents, students, and our staff body.
The transformation of the Academy gathers pace as we seek to secure further refinement and improvement in the quality of education across the curriculum, the range of personal development opportunities and the quality of the environment to support our students securing their ambitions and aspirations as they move through their school life.
In support of our vision for the Academy, I am delighted to confirm the following building improvements will be completed across the next two years:
Expansion and redesign of dining and toilets spaces and facilities
Additional classrooms, including specialist science laboratories and ICT suite
Additional office spaces, intervention, and meeting rooms
A new 7 a side 3rd generation artificial turf floodlit football pitch
A new and fully furnished fitness room
Levelling and resurfacing of all outside playground and physical activity spaces
Improvements to car parking and accessibility to and from the Academy site
Tiered retractable seating in the main hall
The above represents a unique and exciting time for the Academy and will see us secure a truly amazing environment and climate for all students to develop as brilliant young people.
Following a consultation process with staff and students, we have also invested in a range of equipment and resources to provide students with additional opportunities to participate in a range of activities during pre-school, break and lunchtimes. This includes a range of sporting equipment, library and personal study resources and additional external picnic benches. This programme will be supported by a range of new student leadership opportunities, providing students with the opportunity to lead and develop as young leaders whilst supporting activities for their peers during these times.
As we enter the new term, I would like to reinforce the importance of the Academy’s In-Partnership vision and values. The approach and commitment of working In-Partnership between the school, the student and the parent is absolutely critical if we are to shape students to become exceptional in both their academic excellence and their development as wonderful, inspirational, and aspirational young people.
Your son/daughter attending each and every day is absolutely critical if they are to be successful and they must display an outstanding attitude to learning and in their role as ambassadors of Leeds City Academy and the wider community.
