Kisharon School is proud to be part of a team
of dedicated professionals who are warm, caring, and hold an unwavering belief
in the transformative power of education for young people with Special
Educational Needs, Disabilities, and Autism. The whole school community shares
a clear mission: to empower every young person to push boundaries and achieve
fulfilment throughout their educational journey and beyond.
Over the past seven years, Kisharon School has
continued to grow and develop, evolving into a remarkable institution with a
purpose-built environment and an expanded educational offer. This journey
reflects a strong commitment to continuous improvement and excellence. Today,
the school stands as a beacon of support and opportunity for children with
special needs within the Jewish community and beyond.
At Kisharon, there is a deep commitment to
delivering innovative and creative learning experiences. Pupils benefit from a
broad range of academic and enrichment opportunities, underpinned by a strong
Jewish ethos and enhanced through a comprehensive therapeutic provision.
Learning is seen as a continuous process, beginning the moment pupils arrive
and extending throughout the entire school day.
The school is entering an exciting new phase as
part of the Kisharon Langdon Education Partnership, led by Dr Emily Haddock,
Director of Education. This collaboration offers pupils enriched experiences
beyond the classroom and access to a wider network of professional expertise
across different settings. Through partnership working, the curriculum
continues to be strengthened and enhanced to meet the diverse needs of all
learners.
Inclusion lies at the heart of Kisharon School.
The Jewish ethos is celebrated and woven into daily life, while the school
warmly welcomes pupils and families of all faiths and none. From aligning
aspects of the curriculum with the Jewish calendar to whole-school events and
high-quality Kodesh and Religious Education provision, there is a strong
emphasis on accessibility, belonging, and community.
All pupils have moderate to severe learning
disabilities, with some also having autism, epilepsy, physical disabilities,
sensory impairments, medical needs, and/or communication difficulties. These
are never viewed as barriers; instead, they inform a highly aspirational and
personalised approach to education. The school provides high-quality teaching
and learning for pupils aged 4–19, grounded in the National Curriculum and
carefully adapted to meet individual needs. This enables every pupil to build
on their strengths, develop new skills, and prepare successfully for life
beyond school.
