Welcome to King’s Academy Rowner. I am delighted to introduce our school and share why it is such a vibrant and inspiring place to work.

At King’s Academy Rowner, we take great pride in fostering a thriving community where everyone has a place and plays a vital role. Our Trust values of ‘honesty, faith, and courage’ guide us, shaping an environment where children, staff, and families feel valued, supported, and celebrated.

Visitors often remark on the friendly atmosphere and sense of belonging that radiates from our schools. Our children are brilliant! They are at the heart of everything we do, with an awesome team wrapped around them to help them flourish. We are always looking for new people to join us, bringing fresh ideas and energy to our dedicated and dynamic team.

We offer a rich and balanced curriculum that values academic excellence, creativity and personal development. We commit much time to Dance Live in which we have attended the finals for (and won) and many occasions. Gosport in Bloom has highly commended both schools for our gardening endeavours. These accolades highlight our belief in giving children a broad range of opportunities to grow and succeed.

It is a privilege to lead such committed, caring, and forward-thinking communities. I am incredibly proud of our staff, the ambition they hold for every student, and the warmth and integrity that underpin daily life at King’s Academy Rowner. About Our Academy

King’s Academy Rowner is a welcoming primary school serving children from Reception to Year 6. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that combines strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics with creativity, practical learning, and personal development.

Our guiding principle is: “We are aiming for everyone in our community to learn today for the challenges of tomorrow.” For pupils, this means developing the social, emotional, and academic skills to thrive in school and beyond. 

King’s Academy Rowner has been recognised by Ofsted as Good, with inspectors highlighting the inclusive culture and pupils’ positive behaviour, attitudes, and personal development. Staff create a supportive environment where every child is challenged and inspired to reach their potential.

A broad and engaging curriculum

Our curriculum is inclusive, stimulating, and aligned with the National Curriculum. We place a strong emphasis on STEM through STEM, an award-winning programme, and integrate Engineering Habits of Mind in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering. Computing is hands-on, with coding, programming, CAD, robotics, iPads, and ICT suite facilities. Music is also central to our offer, with practical lessons, choir, and peripatetic opportunities for nearly half of our pupils.

Community and enrichment beyond the classroom

We celebrate sporting achievements, smart uniform standards, excellent attendance, and strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider community. Children benefit from enrichment activities that build confidence, curiosity, and pride in their school.

King’s Academy Rowner is rooted in Gosport, a town with a strong local identity and proud heritage. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds, including families linked to maritime industries and the armed forces, bringing resilience, creativity, and diverse experiences.

We work closely with pupils, families, and carers to ensure every child feels supported and valued. Open communication, family engagement, and collaborative partnerships help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
