About King's Academy Prospect

A Message from Our Leadership Team

Welcome to King's Academy Prospect. As leaders of this exceptional school, our goal is to help every student thrive.

As Executive Headteacher, I divide my time between here and King's Academy Easthampstead Park in Bracknell. I am proud to lead both schools on rapid and sustained improvement journeys, ensuring they become the first-choice schools for their local communities.

Since joining King’s Group Academies in 2020, I have seen first-hand how our core values of Honesty, Faith and Courage shape everything we do. A school is more than a place of learning - it is a vibrant community.

I'm incredibly proud of our diversity, with students from over 40 different countries, and our commitment to helping young people become the next generation who will, in turn, help others.

Outside of school, I enjoy supporting my teenage children and cheering on my favourite football team, Bolton Wanderers.

David Littlemore,

Executive Headteacher

As Head of School, I lead the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of King's Academy Prospect.

I am deeply passionate about inclusive education and am a huge advocate for our students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

My primary focus is the safety and well-being of our students. As the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), I'm immensely proud of our commitment to keeping every student safe in an increasingly challenging world. This is a commitment I extend beyond our school gates, working with the safeguarding team at Reading Festival each year to help keep young visitors safe.

As a parent to two boys, I know how important it is for children to feel secure. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to current affairs podcasts while out running with my very big dog.

Our dedication to our students has been praised by Ofsted for "Outstanding" leadership, and we were proudly named "School of the Year" 2024 at the Pride of Reading Awards. Together, we are committed to providing an environment where every student not only achieves academic excellence but also genuinely enjoys their time at King's Academy Prospect.

Mary Morris,

Head of School

About Our Academy

King’s Academy Prospect is a secondary academy providing education for students aged 11–18, including our sixth form.

At King’s Academy Prospect, we are driven by a commitment:

  • To high expectations and high aspirations for every student

  • A strong culture of inclusion and pastoral care, ensuring that every young person feels known, valued, and supported

  • A focus on academic excellence alongside character development

  • A calm, purposeful learning environment built on clear routines and strong relationships

  • Opportunities beyond the classroom, including enrichment, leadership, and personal development

We are proud of our inclusive ethos and our determination to remove barriers to achievement, ensuring that all students can succeed.

Being part of King’s Group Academies means we benefit from strong collaboration, shared expertise, and a clear strategic vision rooted in high expectations and moral purpose. While we proudly serve our local community and maintain our own distinct identity, we are strengthened by belonging to a wider family of academies united by shared values, ambition, and a belief in the transformative power of education.

What Makes Us Unique

Exceptional Teaching Spaces and Facilities

Every teacher has their own allocated classroom - a rare and valued feature that supports consistency, creativity and a real sense of ownership over the learning environment. Alongside this, our specialist spaces enrich our broad curriculum and offer opportunities that many schools simply cannot match, including:

  • A fully equipped art studio

  • A professional hair salon

  • A dedicated gym

  • Construction Workshop

  • A calm, inviting chill‑out area that supports staff and student wellbeing

Our outdoor provision is equally impressive. In the summer, our expansive field transforms into a 400m athletics track, complete with a long jump pit and two cricket squares. In the winter, the same space becomes a full‑sized rugby pitch and two full‑sized football pitches.

Add to this our state‑of‑the‑art AstroTurf and high‑quality outdoor courts, and there is genuinely space for everyone to learn, train and play.

Inside, our facilities continue to stand out. Staff and students benefit from:

  • A huge multi‑purpose sports hall

  • A dedicated gymnasium

  • A fitness studio equipped with cardio machines, free and fixed weights, boxing equipment and a yoga area

  • A lower‑school hall used for trampolining and table tennis

A House System that Builds Belonging and Leadership

Our house system strengthens community, encourages healthy competition and provides opportunities for students to develop leadership and organisational skills. Through inter-house events and competitions, students build teamwork, confidence and pride throughout their school journey.

About Our Community

King’s Academy Prospect is proud to serve families from its local area and the surrounding communities. Our intake reflects a diverse and vibrant population, bringing together students from a wide range of cultural, social, and economic backgrounds. This diversity is one of our greatest strengths and contributes to the rich character of our academy.

Many of our families place a strong value on education as a pathway to opportunity and future success. We recognise that our community includes both areas of relative affluence and areas of higher need, and we are committed to ensuring that background is never a barrier to achievement. Our inclusive ethos, high expectations, and strong pastoral systems are designed to ensure every student feels supported, challenged, and known as an individual.

To broaden aspirations and enrich learning, we seek to develop strong links with local education and employment partners, including outreach opportunities connected to the University of Reading. These relationships help raise aspirations, provide insight into further and higher education pathways, and expose students to future career opportunities within the region.
