Executive Principal’s Welcome
It is a genuine privilege to welcome you to King’s Academy
Oakwood.
As Executive Principal of both King’s Academy Oakwood and our neighbouring academy, King’s Academy Binfield, I am proud to lead two vibrant, inclusive and ambitious schools where children are firmly at the heart of everything we do.
Across our schools you will find a strong culture of professional commitment among staff, curiosity and enthusiasm among pupils, and deep pride within our community. Unity, collaboration and shared purpose are not simply aspirations; they are actively fostered every day. These principles shape how we lead, how we work and how we grow together.
My leadership approach is rooted in authenticity, kindness and compassion. I believe in leading by example - working alongside colleagues, listening carefully, and creating a culture in which every individual feels valued and empowered. Open communication, integrity and a shared commitment to high standards underpin everything we do.
I make no apology for having high expectations. Excellence comes from expecting the very best of ourselves and each other. A calm, disciplined and supportive environment — built on mutual respect and clear routines — enables children to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. We are committed to ensuring every child feels safe, valued and ready to succeed.
Alongside our commitment to pupils, we are equally dedicated to ensuring our staff feel respected, supported and able to thrive. At King’s Academy Oakwood, colleagues benefit from a professional culture built on trust, collaboration and shared purpose. We value integrity, open dialogue and professional growth, and we work hard to ensure every member of staff feels heard, developed and empowered in their role.
I am incredibly proud to lead this community and excited about what we can achieve together. If you share our ambition to provide young people with opportunity and success on a global stage, I warmly encourage you to consider joining us.

About King’s Academy Oakwood
King’s Academy Oakwood is a One-form-entry primary school
located in Binfield, Bracknell Forest. Since opening in 2019, the school has
grown steadily and now serves around 210 pupils from Reception through to Year
6.
Our vision is clear and ambitious: to provide every pupil with the foundations, confidence and opportunities they need for success on a global stage. We believe that primary education should lay strong academic foundations while nurturing curiosity, confidence and character.
Everything we do is guided by our core values of Honesty, Faith and Courage:
These values shape the culture of our academy, underpin our curriculum and guide the way we work together each day.
As part of King’s Group Academies, we benefit from being part of a wider family of schools committed to educational excellence, collaboration and global opportunity. This partnership strengthens professional practice, broadens development opportunities and ensures we remain outward-looking and ambitious.
What makes us unique
At King’s Academy Oakwood, teaching is underpinned by
clear routines, high expectations and strong instructional practice. Our
curriculum is carefully designed to provide children with the knowledge,
vocabulary and cultural understanding they need for future success.
Early reading is taught through the Read Write Inc. programme, providing a consistent and rigorous approach to phonics and literacy development.
Our curriculum is broad and ambitious, supporting children to develop strong academic foundations while fostering curiosity and creativity.
Language learning also forms an important part of our curriculum. Spanish is taught from Reception, with French introduced in Key Stage 2, providing early exposure to language learning and cultural awareness.
A Culture of Collaboration, Support and Professional Trust
Collaboration sits at the heart of our professional
culture. Staff work closely together to share expertise, support one another
and continually strengthen practice.
Through King’s Group Academies, colleagues benefit from
trust-wide professional networks, shared learning opportunities and leadership
development pathways.
We also work in close partnership with King’s Academy Binfield, our neighbouring all-through academy. This collaboration allows us to draw on shared expertise and leadership capacity while maintaining a strong and distinctive primary identity.
A Nurturing and Inclusive Environment
Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment is central to our ethos. Every child at Oakwood is known and valued as an individual, and strong pastoral care is woven throughout daily school life.
Pupils are encouraged to develop kindness, responsibility and leadership through initiatives such as:
This nurturing environment enables pupils to feel confident, supported and ready to learn.
Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage
At King’s Academy Oakwood, our vision is to provide every pupil with opportunity and success on a global stage. As part of King’s Group Academies, we are proud to belong to a growing international network of schools committed to broadening horizons and raising aspirations.
Our global outlook is embedded within our curriculum and
enrichment opportunities, helping pupils develop curiosity about the wider
world and an understanding of different cultures and perspectives.
King’s Academy Oakwood has been recognised for its commitment to international learning through the British Council International School Award (Intermediate Level). This recognition reflects our work to embed global awareness within our teaching and provide pupils with meaningful opportunities to explore the world beyond their local community.
Through our links within King’s Group Academies and wider international initiatives, pupils develop an appreciation of different cultures, languages and global perspectives - preparing them to become thoughtful and informed global citizens.
Our Community
King’s Academy Oakwood serves a diverse and growing community within Binfield and the wider Bracknell Forest area. As part of a thriving educational hub alongside King’s Academy Binfield, we benefit from close partnership while maintaining a strong and distinctive primary identity.
