About King's Academy Easthampstead Park

A Message from Our Leadership Team

Welcome to King’s Academy Easthampstead Park.

As leaders of this exceptional school, our shared ambition is simple: to ensure every student thrives - academically, personally and socially - and to create a workplace where staff feel valued, supported and inspired.

As Executive Headteacher, I divide my time between King’s Academy Easthampstead Park and King’s Academy Prospect in Reading. I am proud to lead both schools on rapid and sustained improvement journeys, ensuring they become the first-choice schools for their local communities.

Since joining King’s Group Academies in 2021, I have seen first-hand how our core values of Honesty, Faith and Courage shape everything we do. A school is more than a place of learning - it is a vibrant community where young people are prepared not only for examinations, but for life.

I am immensely proud of our history and of our unwavering commitment to developing the next generation - young people who will go on to contribute positively to society and support others in turn.

Outside of school, I enjoy supporting my teenage children and cheering on my favourite football team, Bolton Wanderers.

David Littlemore,

Executive Headteacher

As Head of School, I lead the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of King’s Academy Easthampstead Park.

We see each child as an individual, with unique talents, aspirations and potential. Our staff are passionate about helping students grow - not only academically, but as confident, curious and resilient young people. We want every student to feel valued, supported and inspired to aim high.

As part of the King’s Group Academies family, we are guided by a shared vision: Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage. This means more than achieving excellent examination results. It is about equipping students with the experiences, skills and confidence to embrace challenge, explore new ideas and find their place in the world with pride and purpose.

Education is strongest when school and home work in partnership. We value the trust placed in us by families and are committed to building strong relationships so that, together, we can ensure every child flourishes.

Outside of school, I enjoy music, reading, travel and photography.

Together, we are committed to creating an environment where students achieve academic excellence and genuinely enjoy their time at King’s Academy Easthampstead Park - and where staff can build rewarding, impactful careers.

Matt Hall,

Head of School

About Our Academy

Originally established in 1972 as Easthampstead Park Community School, the academy now educates nearly 900 students aged 11-18, including those in our KAEP6 Sixth Form.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection, inspectors noted that pupils “love coming to this happy, inclusive and respectful school.” Students reported feeling safe, well cared for and confident that staff listen to them. Inspectors praised pupils’ positive attitudes to learning, strong behaviour and the respectful relationships they build with staff.

The report also highlighted:

  • A broad and ambitious curriculum

  • A strong focus on reading

  • A wide range of extra-curricular opportunities

  • High-quality careers guidance

  • Thoughtful personal development provision

  • Rigorous safeguarding practices

  • Effective preparation for apprenticeships, employment and university

Governors were recognised for their ambition and challenge, and staff were praised for their commitment, care and professionalism.

What Makes Us Unique

A Rich History and Strong Local Connection

While our modern academy was established in 1972, the site itself has a remarkable heritage dating back to 1335.

Originally a royal hunting lodge for Edward III, Easthampstead Park later hosted monarchs including Richard II, Henry VIII and James I. Over the centuries, it became home to influential families such as the Trumbulls and the Marquesses of Downshire, and inspired literary figures including Alexander Pope.

The current Jacobean-style mansion, built in 1868, remains a listed building of architectural significance. During the Second World Wa

r, the estate supported the war effort before later becoming a teacher training college and, eventually, the thriving school community it is today.

Set within beautiful parkland rich in wildlife, Easthampstead Park combines historic character with a strong sense of purpose and modern educational ambition.

A House System that Builds Belonging and Leadership

Our house system strengthens community, encourages healthy competition and provides opportunities for students to develop leadership and organisational skills. Through inter-house events and competitions, students build teamwork, confidence and pride throughout their school journey.

About Our Community

Community is at the heart of everything we do.

Located in the south of Bracknell, we serve a diverse and vibrant local population. Our students reflect the richness of the area - representing a wide range of cultural backgrounds, languages and life experiences. We are proud of the ambition our families hold for their children and the trust they place in us.

Social Responsibility and Student Leadership

Social responsibility is embedded in academy life. Our Student Parliament plays a central role in organising charity initiatives, including six annual “civvies” days where students contribute to causes they have democratically selected.

Students actively research and select charities, invite representatives to speak in assemblies and ensure their peers understand the impact of their fundraising efforts. Proceeds are shared between the chosen charities and our School Environment Fund, allowing students to continue investing in meaningful projects.

We also encourage individual initiative. Recently, a Year 8 student independently organised a trainer donation drive to support South African athletes after learning about children training without proper footwear. Through assemblies, tutor visits and promotional materials, she mobilised support and collected over 30 pairs of trainers in four months - a powerful example of student leadership in action.

Partnership and Professional Development

We maintain strong relationships with local primary schools to support smooth transition into secondary education. Our Year 13 musicians, for example, have worked alongside Great Hollands Year 5 pupils to prepare performances for our “Christmas by Candlelight” event - a celebration of collaboration and student leadership we aim to make an annual tradition.

We also value links with a range of external partners who help broaden our students’ aspirations and develop vital skills. These include employer and community partnerships with organisations such as Fujitsu, which supports mentoring and enterprise activities, and Business in the Community (BITC), a charity that helps shape corporate-school collaborations and enhances employability experiences. Recent work with partners like Legal & General and Go Construct has created opportunities for work experience, enterprise challenges, financial education and mentoring.

We work closely with our feeder primary schools - including Wooden Hill, Great Hollands, Birch Hill and Jennett’s Park - sharing teacher development opportunities and inviting colleagues and pupils to join us for joint events.

We are also proud members of the Bracknell Forest School Direct Partnership, a collaboration of six local secondary schools. Together, we recruit high-calibre graduates with the potential to become exceptional teachers - professionals who are ambitious, reflective and committed to delivering the highest standards of education.

We seek colleagues who want to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people and their families - and who are excited to grow within a supportive, values-driven academy trust.
