About King's Academy Binfield

Executive Principal’s Welcome

It is a genuine privilege to welcome you to King’s Academy Binfield.

As Executive Principal of both King’s Academy Binfield and our neighbouring academy, King’s Academy Oakwood, I am proud to lead two vibrant, inclusive and ambitious schools where children are placed firmly at the heart of everything we do.

Across our all-through provision, from Nursery to Post-16, you will find a strong culture of professional commitment among staff, curiosity and ambition among students, and deep pride within our community. Unity, collaboration and shared purpose are not simply aspirations here; they are lived and nurtured every day. These principles shape how we lead, how we work and how we grow together.

My leadership approach is rooted in authenticity, kindness and compassion. I believe in leading by example, working alongside colleagues, listening carefully and creating a culture in which every individual feels valued and empowered. Open communication, integrity and a shared commitment to high standards underpin everything we do.

As part of King’s Group Academies, our work is guided by the values of Honesty, Faith and Courage, and by our shared vision of Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage. We are passionate about equipping our students with the knowledge, skills and character they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. These values shape our decisions, inform our culture and support the development of confident, respectful and resilient young people.

I make no apology for having high expectations. Excellence comes from expecting the very best of ourselves and each other. A disciplined and supportive environment, built on mutual respect and clear routines, enables both students and staff to flourish. We are committed to ensuring that every child thrives academically, socially and emotionally within a calm, aspirational and inclusive setting.

Alongside our commitment to students, we are equally dedicated to ensuring our staff feel respected, supported and able to thrive. At King’s Academy Binfield, colleagues benefit from a professional culture built on trust, collaboration and shared purpose. We value integrity, open dialogue and continuous professional growth, and we work hard to ensure every member of staff feels heard, developed and empowered in their role.

I am incredibly proud to lead this community and excited about what we can achieve together. If you share our ambition to provide young people with opportunity and success on a global stage, I warmly encourage you to consider joining us.

Kerri-Anne Leavy

Executive Principal, King’s Academy Binfield & King’s Academy Oakwood

About King’s Academy Binfield

King’s Academy Binfield is the first all-through academy in Bracknell Forest, educating pupils from Nursery through to Post-16 within one ambitious and connected learning community.

Our secondary phase opened in September 2018 with its first cohort of Year 7 students, followed by the opening of our primary phase in September 2019 for Nursery and Reception pupils. Today, we proudly support children from the age of three to eighteen, enabling them to learn, grow and succeed within one academy community.

Our vision is both simple and ambitious: to provide every student with opportunity and success on a global stage. We believe education should broaden horizons, nurture character and equip young people with the knowledge, confidence and resilience they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Everything we do is guided by our core values of Honesty, Faith and Courage:

  • Honesty builds trust, integrity and strong relationships across our community.
  • Faith encourages belief in ourselves, in one another and in the potential of every child
  • Courage empowers our students and staff to embrace challenges, take responsibility and strive for excellence.

These values shape the culture of our academy, underpin our curriculum and guide the way we work together each day.

As part of King’s Group Academies, we belong to a wider family of schools united by a shared commitment to educational excellence and opportunity for all. This partnership strengthens professional collaboration, expands development opportunities for staff and ensures our academy remains outward-looking, ambitious and globally connected.

What Makes Us Unique

A Culture of Collaboration, Support and Professional Trust

Collaboration sits at the heart of our professional culture. We believe that great schools are built by great teams, and our staff work closely together to share expertise, support one another and continually improve practice.

Through trust-wide networks within King’s Group Academies, colleagues benefit from shared resources, professional learning communities and leadership development pathways that extend beyond a single school.

Our close partnership with King’s Academy Oakwood, our neighbouring primary school, further strengthens this collaborative approach. Together, we draw on shared expertise and leadership capacity while maintaining our distinct identities. This partnership enables staff to work across phases, share best practice and develop a deeper understanding of the full educational journey from early years to post-16.

Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage

At King’s Academy Binfield, our vision is to provide every student with opportunity and success on a global stage. As part of King’s Group Academies, we are proud to belong to a growing international community of schools that seeks to broaden horizons, deepen cultural understanding and raise aspirations for both students and staff.

This global outlook shapes our curriculum, our enrichment opportunities and our professional culture. We encourage our students to look beyond their immediate surroundings, developing curiosity about the wider world alongside the communication, collaboration and cultural awareness needed to thrive within it.

Students benefit from a wide range of experiences that bring this vision to life. Events such as International Day, global partnership projects and cross-school collaborations enable students to explore different cultures, perspectives and ideas. We have also established international partnerships that provide opportunities for overseas visits, with planned trips including Thailand, Nepal and Cambodia, further strengthening our commitment to global learning.

Our international programme is led by dedicated international leads across both primary and secondary phases, who work with our student International Ambassadors to promote global awareness across the academy. Through this work, students develop leadership skills while championing international understanding within our school community.

We are proud to participate in wider King’s Group Academies initiatives, including the Global Stage Forum, where students from across the network come together to share their ideas, creativity and perspectives. Events such as the International Youth Summit further strengthen these connections, providing powerful opportunities for young people to collaborate and engage with global issues.

Our commitment to global learning is also reflected in our work towards achieving the British Council International School Award, for which King’s Academy Binfield is currently seeking accreditation. This recognition supports our ambition to embed international learning across our curriculum and strengthen global partnerships.

International collaboration also plays an important role in the professional development of our staff. Through initiatives such as the Global Teacher Development Programme, we have welcomed teachers from Brazil to the UK to participate in professional learning opportunities across King’s Group Academies. These exchanges allow colleagues to share expertise, learn from different educational contexts and strengthen our collective practice.

We are equally proud of the inclusive international dimension within our academy community. We warmly welcome colleagues joining us from outside the UK and value the diversity of experience and perspective they bring to our schools. By embracing this global outlook, we ensure our academy remains outward-looking, inclusive and ambitious for everyone within our community.

As our international partnerships continue to grow, so too do the opportunities available to our students and staff. We look forward to building on these connections and continuing to provide meaningful experiences that enable our community to flourish on a truly global stage.
