Headteachers Welcome
Welcome to King’s Academy Bay House. It is a pleasure to introduce our academy and to share why it is such a rewarding and inspiring place to work.
At King’s Academy Bay House, our mission is to drive Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage. We instil the core values of Honesty, Courage, and Faith, which guide our daily interactions and support every student and colleague. When staff feel trusted, valued, and supported, they can do their best work, enabling our students to become Future Leaders ready for Global Adventures.
As a secondary and sixth form academy, we offer a large and vibrant academic environment. Our passionate colleagues work together across departments and key stages, sharing expertise, leading initiatives, and supporting one another professionally to ensure learning is dynamic and engaging. We believe education goes far beyond the classroom walls. It’s about igniting curiosity, fostering a love of lifelong learning, and equipping students to thrive in a diverse and ever-changing world.
It is a privilege to lead such a committed, caring, and forward-thinking community. I am incredibly proud of our staff, the ambition they hold for every student, and the integrity and warmth that underpin our daily work. I look forward to welcoming colleagues who share our values and who are excited to contribute to the next chapter of King’s Academy Bay House.

About Our Academy
King’s Academy Bay House is a large and well-established secondary school and sixth form serving students aged 11–18, with around 2000 students on roll. We offer a rich blend of academic challenge, pastoral support, and co-curricular opportunities, ensuring students thrive both academically and personally.
Our academy is distinctive for its historic Grade II listed Bay House building, dating from the 19th century, having been carefully restored and integrated into modern facilities as part of a major redevelopment. Our unique environment, combined with our coastal location in Stokes Bay, provides a striking backdrop to school life and fosters our strong sense of identity and pride for our students and staff alike.
We are proud to be recognised as Good by Ofsted, reflecting strong leadership, positive relationships and a culture where students feel safe, respected and supported.
We are part of King’s Group Academies, a Trust with over 40 years of experience in the UK and internationally, providing access to collaborative networks, leadership development and career progression opportunities, while reinforcing our shared values and high standards.
What Makes Us Unique
A global and outward-looking approach to education
We embed an international dimension across the curriculum, preparing students to be culturally aware, globally minded and active citizens. This focus broadens horizons and encourages curiosity and collaboration.
A commitment to professional growth
Colleagues benefit from high quality CPD, leadership training, and opportunities to lead initiatives. Collaboration and shared responsibility are at the heart of our working culture, with open communication and reflective practice supporting both personal and professional growth.
Enrichment and experience beyond the classroom
From coastal fieldwork and performing arts to sports, clubs and educational visits, students experience a rich and varied offer. Staff have opportunities to lead activities, develop new programmes and help shape a vibrant co-curricular culture.
About Our Community
King’s Academy Bay House is rooted in the seaside town of Gosport, a community known for its naval history, coastal charm and strong local identity. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds, including families with connections to the armed forces and maritime industries, contributing to the rich mixture of experiences and aspirations and community spirit.
We work closely with parents, carers and local organisations to ensure that students feel connected and supported. Partnerships with community groups, local services and regional employers help broaden opportunities for our young people and strengthen our place at the heart of Gosport life.
As a member of staff at King’s Academy Bay House, you become part of a community that values relationships, celebrates diversity and works together to make a lasting difference for the young people we serve.
