The East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) is a 2-19 generic special school with 470 learners on roll. All our learners have special learning needs and some have physical/ medical difficulties. The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

We are looking for an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our growing team and help make a genuine, lasting difference to learners’ lives. We have a vacancy for a Maternity Cover Level 3 Teaching Assistant for 28 hours per week (4 days) at the East SILC, based at Jack Clark.
As with all appointments at the East SILC staff may be asked to work at any site within the organisation.
Our learners have a range of needs including autism, severe learning difficulties, hearing and visual impairments, physical difficulties, specific communication and language difficulties and associated social, emotional and mental health needs.
We require a skilled and resilient person who is willing to learn, support teaching and learning and address the personal needs of our learners. You will need to be adaptable, a good communicator and be able to work as part of our team.
