John Blandy is a friendly and caring school, where expectations of behaviour are high and where our children strive for brilliance in everything they do. Our school vision is Belong. Believe. Brilliant. As a school community, we belong together and support each other in our learning. We encourage our children to believe in themselves and others and we recognise that in belonging together and believing in each other, we are brilliant! We are a Values-based school, with our eight core values underpinning our school vision.

Our curriculum is carefully planned and based around high-quality, engaging and challenging texts which link to different subjects, inspiring our children and their learning. We bring learning to life through enrichment activities such as WOW days, trips, residentials, visitors and experience days, enabling children to become fully immersed in their learning. We know that happy children learn and our dedicated staff use their expertise and experience to both challenge and support our pupils both within, and outside of the classroom, ensuring that each child reaches their full potential.

We pride ourselves on being a village school and knowing each and everyone of our children and our families. We serve the local community of both Southmoor and Kingston Bagpuize. Over the next 5 years, we expect to become a 1.5 form entry school and in January 2021, we saw the opening of our new Rainbow Building, which contains 6 modern, airy, vibrant new classrooms. The building was aptly named by our children, who identified both with its bright colours and it being built at a time of much needed hope in the world.
