Welcome to Hooton
Pagnell
Nestled in the picturesque
semi-rural village of Hooton Pagnell in South Yorkshire, Hooton Pagnell is a
warm, welcoming and ambitious school community where children are known, valued
and inspired to flourish. As a Church of England Primary School and proud
member of the James Montgomery Academy Trust, we combine a strong sense of
tradition with a forward-thinking approach to education, preparing pupils to
flourish in their future.
Our Christian vision, “Preparing
Pupils to Flourish in Their Future,” is rooted in the words of Psalm 25:4, “Show
me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.” This vision shapes every aspect
of school life, guiding our curriculum, relationships and aspirations for every
child as they grow in wisdom, confidence and character.
With 89 children on roll across
four classes, our school offers a nurturing environment where every child is
recognised as an individual and supported to thrive academically, socially and
spiritually. Our engaging learning spaces and exceptional outdoor environments
provide a vibrant setting where children can learn, explore and grow.
At Hooton Pagnell, we are
committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning through high
expectations, rich opportunities and a broad, ambitious curriculum. We
encourage every child to strive for excellence and develop the confidence and
character needed for lifelong success.
Our school is underpinned by six
core values that shape our culture and community:
Aspiration – We inspire children
to dream big, work hard and believe in their potential. We nurture ambition and
encourage every pupil to aim high in all they do.
Collaboration – We believe
learning is strongest when we work together. Through positive relationships
with peers, staff, parents and the wider community, children develop teamwork,
empathy and a strong sense of belonging.
Curiosity – We foster a love of
learning by encouraging children to question, investigate and think deeply. Our
curriculum gives pupils time to explore and develop understanding, creativity
and wonder.
Independence – We empower
children to take ownership of their learning, make informed choices and develop
the confidence to solve problems, reflect and grow.
Resilience – We encourage
children to embrace challenge, learn from mistakes and persevere when things
feel difficult, developing determination and strength of character.
Faith – As a Church of England
school, faith is central to our ethos. It underpins our values, shapes our
relationships and supports children in developing compassion, integrity and
respect for others.
Children are at the heart of
every decision we make. We are proud of the joyful, respectful atmosphere we
have created, where children feel safe, happy and valued as unique learners and
individuals. Through strong partnerships with families, we work together to
ensure every child receives the very best opportunities to succeed.
Staff, parents and pupils often describe our school as “a family,” and this strong sense of community is one of our greatest strengths. United by our shared vision, we are committed to nurturing confident, compassionate and capable young people ready to make a positive difference in the world.
