Welcome to Holyport C of E Primary School

We would like to take this opportunity to say a very warm hello to you all. It’s a real pleasure to welcome enquiries from parents, carers and visitors.

Holyport C of E Primary School has been around for a long time. It was founded in 1848 by church leaders at Bray Church in Maidenhead. Some 160 years later many things have changed, but we are still in the business of educating young children in a caring and friendly environment. Our school has seen exciting changes in recent years as we converted to a Academy, part of Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust. in 2016. We have seen our school flourish and we are determined to retain the individual care and attention for our pupils that has characterised our school for so long.

Our vision for the school is to provide an inclusive and quality learning environment that bases relationships on Christian values. Our curriculum is rooted in the vision of ‘life in all its fullness’ and is designed to equip children to be curious and confident independent learners but also active, healthy, responsible and caring citizens in their community. It takes into account the children’s existing knowledge and prior learning, provides exciting learning experiences and allows the children to build resilience, develop communication skills, and become creative and reflective thinkers.

We believe that as a church school we should reflect a strong Christian ethos throughout, if children are to have the opportunity to experience a community that celebrates a Christian faith.

As children leave Holyport CE Primary School, they do so with the knowledge that they belonged to a tightly knit, caring community where they have developed the confidence, knowledge and skills to enable them to make effective decisions, be self-reflective, make meaningful connections with others and we want every child to be ready to take on the next steps in their journey to adulthood with a love of learning. 

To reinforce this, we have a variety of clubs we offer the children. Music and Sport also plays a key role in our school. We are delighted to have a dedicated sports teacher on our staff team. After school sports clubs run every day for the children and the school has links with local sports organisations such as Maidenhead Magpies and the Ascot, Windsor and Maidenhead Sports Partnership. We are proud of take part in numerous tournaments throughout the year, with many successes including at the Berkshire Games. We aim to be inclusive in our approach and as such have been awarded the GOLD School Games School. 

We are very proud of our academic achievements, and we are also enormously proud of all our pupils and the contribution each one of them brings to make school life special. We want to ensure that continuous improvement and change is not viewed solely on academic issues.
