On behalf of the Academy Council and Staff, I would like to take this opportunity to offer both you and your child a sincere and warm welcome to our school.
We look forward to working in partnership with you to provide a happy secure and stimulating learning environment for everyone in our school.
We continually update our website in the hope that you will find it interesting and a useful source of reference whilst your child attends our school. Details of any holiday dates, changes in staff and organisation will be sent to parents via the weekly newsletter which you will receive every Friday. Newsletters and other letters are also uploaded on the website.
We value our good relationship with parents and are always most grateful for parental involvement within school.
Our village has had a Church School since the early 1840’s. The site of the first school is Ashburn Street, with places for more than 160 children. Today the old buildings are the property of Seaton Carew Church Council and are used as a choir vestry and church hall. In 2015 we moved into our new building and the original building, which was demolished, was built in 1925 on Church glebe land at a cost of £6,000. In 2014, for the first time in the history of the school, we were very excited to open our doors to nursery age pupils. We have provision for 52 nursery places – 30 hour places and 15 hour places of which 26 will be morning places and 26 afternoon places.
Holy Trinity School is a church and village school in the truest tradition. We have a school ethos based on ‘Love thy neighbour as yourself’ – Matthew 22 Vs. 3-9, of which we are all extremely proud and which has served the Church families and the village community for a huge part of the community’s history.
Our aims are to meet the needs of individual children so that they are able to make the most of their abilities and to achieve personal excellence, whilst providing spiritual, moral, social and cultural guidance with the aim to prepare them to take on the responsibilities of later life; including those related to fundamental British Values, in an atmosphere of a caring Christian setting, where there is equality of opportunity for all children.
We are now part of the Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Learning Trust. As an academy school we can share expertise and ideas with others in the academy in order to further improve the education which we offer to our chldren. We will still maintain our strong Christian ethos and values as well as our uniqueness to serve our distinct school community.
Yours sincerely
Amanda Baines
