Welcome to Holte School
“Dedicated to learning as the foundation for life”
At Holte School, we care deeply for all our students; for their education, and safety, their personal development and their well-being. We value all children as individuals, nurturing their creative talents, working relentlessly to make sure that they have the highest aspirations and are motivated to flourish and succeed in everything they do.
We believe that education is about more than just academic achievement. We want to engage and enhance all aspects of our student’s lives and in doing so help them to determine their own future, with a good understanding of the world and opportunities around them.
At Holte School governors, parents, staff, and students are “dedicated to learning as the foundation for life”. We are able to deliver this shared vision by focusing on our core values embedded throughout our school and underpinning students’ and staff experiences:
Holte is a community school that is developing its learning programmes to meet the needs of all students, inspiring learners, equipping them with the skills, confidence and qualifications required to flourish in an ever changing world. The curriculum is broad and balanced, includes a range of complementary enrichment programmes and prepares students for life in the twenty-first century. We expect all students to contribute to the wider life of the school, so preparing them for the world of further study, employment and adulthood. We also aim to equip our pupils to meet the challenges of a rapidly-changing society, and globalised world, so that they are aware of the opportunities that are available to them. This empowers them to realise their aspirations and to become responsible and conscientious citizens of the world.
We want all of our students to develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally. We want them to develop deep factual knowledge; to know about the physical world, their history, culture and current affairs as well as the world of art and literature. We expect them to explore ideas, to learn how to ask good questions and to engage in debate. We also place great importance on their ability to communicate their ideas; to stand up in front of others to speak; to make things with their hands and with digital technology and to work collaboratively.
We are a highly inclusive school community where every individual matters. The community that we serve is blessed with a rich diversity of languages, cultures and faiths, and it is a credit to our school that, together, we learn how to embrace and respect each other’s identity. We have superb pastoral support systems and take a strong stand on tackling discrimination and prejudice and promoting equality. This is a school where students of every ethnic background, boys and girls, student with disabilities or special educational needs are celebrated and thrive equally.
Through outstanding teaching, inspirational opportunities, exceptional learning and loving and caring relationships we open minds and develop unique individuals at Holte School. Students and staff have the best possible environment in which to achieve, progress, learn and thrive. They are positively focused, determined and demonstrate respect for all. We are at the heart of our local community, a school in which all students, parents, staff, stakeholders and partners believe in the limitless potential of people and learning as the foundation of life.”
