About Hitchin Girls' School
Founded in 1889 and located
on a hilltop close to historic Hitchin town centre, Hitchin Girls' School is a
state-maintained all-ability academy for 11 to 18-year-olds with approximately
1400 students on roll. Having been rated Outstanding in 2013, the school was inspected
by Ofsted again in October 2024 and was judged to be Outstanding in all areas.
We are committed to delivering
the highest quality provision for an exceptional all-round education for every
student, and developing their individual abilities and personal qualities in
preparation for the demands of the outside world. Our core values of

everything we do, in an environment that upholds high expectations and
