Hello and Welcome to Hatcham Primary!

I feel incredibly proud and privileged to be the Executive Headteacher of two wonderful school communities: Hatcham Primary and Hatcham Free School. Both schools are filled with happy, curious children who love learning, and dedicated staff who go above and beyond every day to make a real difference. What unites us across both schools is a shared belief that every child deserves the very best education—one that nurtures their talents, builds their confidence, and celebrates who they are.

Hatcham Primary School is a vibrant, diverse, inclusive, and thriving school within the New Cross community. We provide quality first teaching as a basic entitlement for all our learners! We are a two-form entry primary school with high expectations, but it is with the support and engagement of our families that these expectations are achieved. There is a genuine family feel the moment you walk through our doors. Our children are enthusiastic, kind, and proud of their school. We have a rich and inclusive curriculum that reflects the diversity of our community and encourages children to aim high, think creatively, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

We are committed to providing support and challenges to all our pupils so they can reach their true potential spiritually, morally, academically, emotionally, socially, culturally, and physically. We believe that each child is unique, and we strive to nurture their talents and character with care. Hatcham Primary is a place where children feel safe, happy, and celebrated for who they are.

We are known for high expectations and excellent academic progress, achievement, and behaviour. We teach and guide our pupils to behave respectfully towards each other and the environment, preparing them for the outside world. We are extremely proud of the children’s exemplary behaviour and attitudes towards learning.

Our learning environments are safe, rigorous, warm, creative, nurturing, and challenging for all pupils to develop as well-adjusted young adults. We are an inclusive, diverse school welcoming children and families of all beliefs, cultures, and abilities.
