Employment Mentors support students moving into Supported
Internships by coordinating personalised placements and helping remove barriers
to learning and employment. You’ll work closely with learners, families,
employers and external agencies to ensure each intern feels supported, informed
and ready for their next steps.
This role involves sharing regular updates on each intern’s
progress and helping ensure their support plans are followed in the workplace.
You’ll work closely with the SEND Employability and Inclusion Coordinator to
plan next steps for interns who need additional guidance. The job includes
meeting with parents and carers, keeping accurate daily records and taking part
in reviews with employers and external agencies. You’ll also help identify
interns who are ready for employment and support the assessment of future
applicants. Accurate paperwork, destination tracking and contributing to the
College’s retention work are all key parts of this role.
