About Glenmoor & Winton Academies
Glenmoor and Winton Academies are two ‘Outstanding’ 11-16 single-sex secondary academies in Bournemouth, sharing the same campus and teaching staff.
Pupils benefit from the best of both worlds – a single-sex education that builds confidence within a supportive and ambitious learning environment, alongside the wider personal development opportunities that come from working and socialising within a co-educational setting.
Our dedicated staff understand and respond to the different needs of pupils across both academies, delivering a broad and enriching education, including through our Grammar Stream. Our young people are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to achieve great results at GCSE, exceed their potential, and go on to lead happy and fulfilled lives. By setting high standards and expectations, we open doors to leading academic institutions and a wide range of career opportunities. These outcomes place Glenmoor and Winton as two of the highest achieving non-selective schools in the country.
We also celebrate staff success through weekly celebration briefings and provide a wide range of opportunities for professional development, alongside regular social events such as breakfast mornings, INSET day lunches and team-building activities.
We benefit from excellent facilities across our extensive site, including 25 acres of playing fields and an all-weather 3G pitch, providing an ideal setting for pupils to engage in sport throughout the year.
We offer over 40 extracurricular clubs, alongside a wide range of trips for each year group across the academic year. From archery to football, and skiing to art residentials, we are very proud of the breadth of opportunities available to enrich pupils’ experiences.
Our community garden further enhances this provision, giving staff and pupils the opportunity to develop gardening skills, while the orchard space is used for outdoor learning and clubs during the spring and summer terms.
