About Garforth Academy
Garforth Academy is a vibrant and exciting place to learn. We welcome the opportunity of shaping and developing the minds of our young people, as they move through such a pivotal phase in their lives. We aim not just to educate our young people, but also to enrich, guide and support them to ensure that by the time they have completed their education with us, that they are fully prepared and equipped to enter the competitive world of work or further studies. We promote independent learning and aim to empower students as they face new challenges. We will provide them with the knowledge, skills and resilience to achieve the highest possible standards academically, socially and personally.
We have a hugely talented and committed staff team, with a range of well-qualified and dedicated professionals to ensure that our curriculum, guidance, care and support meet the different needs of every individual at the Academy. We pride ourselves on our high expectations and encourage all students to be happy, ambitious, well organised, caring and supportive of each other. Our pastoral care system underpins this success with its clear expectations and guidelines. We enjoy celebrating the successes of our students on a weekly basis, through the many reward systems and extra-curricular opportunities on offer.
Our ethos is fundamental to Garforth Academy. Every student will be asked to immerse themselves in ‘Our 10 Core Values’; values that the Academy feels all students should demonstrate throughout their daily routines, and are essential to being part of a community. We want our students to be the best they can possibly be, engage proactively with their community, be responsible, think of others, develop interests both academic and non-academic and be prepared for ‘life in the real world’.
Garforth Academy enjoys the many benefits of being a member of the Delta Academies Trust. This link allows good practice, resources and expertise to be easily shared between schools in the group and allows us to offer a wider range of learning experiences, extra-curricular actives and support as a result.
