At the Fordway Centre, we are incredibly proud of the warm, nurturing school community we have created.

As a primary PRU, relationships are at the heart of everything we do, and we work hard to ensure that every child feels safe, valued and ready to succeed. We have recently moved into a fantastic new purpose-built building, with amazing facilities including a sensory room, sensory garden and inspiring learning spaces that really support the needs of our pupils. The school has a real family feel, and visitors often comment on the calm, happy atmosphere as soon as they walk through the door. We support children who have been permanently excluded, alongside offering short-term intervention placements for schools across Surrey, providing a calm, structured environment where children can rebuild confidence, learn positive behaviours and re-engage with education.

We are lucky to have a fantastic, dedicated team who genuinely care about making a difference for our pupils every day. Our behaviour approach is built around clear expectations, consistent routines and highly visual, motivating reward systems which help children feel secure and successful.

With small classes of up to eight pupils and high levels of adult support, staff are able to build strong relationships and adapt learning to meet individual needs, whilst still maintaining high expectations for progress. Our curriculum is broad, creative and cross-curricular, designed to engage pupils and inspire a love of learning.

As part of the Inclusive Education Trust (IET), staff benefit from being part of a wider professional network, with access to high-quality CPD and opportunities for career progression, whilst still working within a small, supportive setting.
