Message from Denise York, Head of Fircroft Primary School

Welcome to Fircroft Primary School. We are a hidden gem, tucked away in a quiet corner of Tooting Bec. Our Fircroft family is a small, diverse community, made up of supportive parents, happy staff, and happy children.

We have a strong culture of positive community spirit, a commitment to inclusion and to learning creatively. We value our mix of cultures, languages, backgrounds, and talents. To quote a current Fircroft parent; “Fircroft is a truly wonderful school, where each child is known and celebrated for their uniqueness and their different abilities.”

Our staff team have high expectations for all pupils, and this is reflected in our school’s strong academic achievement in Phonics, Reading, Writing and Mathematics.  Fircroft also has an excellent reputation as a school that values both the arts and sports, with specialist teaching and participation in a wide range of arts projects and sporting competitions.

Our bespoke curriculum makes the most of our local area and incredible parent group. This includes visits from poets, palaeontologists, and polar explorers, as well as termly trips to galleries, museums and other places of educational interest. We are passionate about giving our children experiences beyond their own doorstep, and this includes residential trips in Year 4 and Year 6. As recognised by Ofsted, our children leave Fircroft well prepared for their next stage of their education.
