Our school has a tremendous history stretching back to 1558 where it began as an educational establishment, given the huge responsibility by the local church to teach poor, local children to read and write; what a wonderful, “comprehensive” mission.
Our school’s ethos, ‘Tant Que Je Puis’ has a rich history and embodies our commitment to doing our best in every endeavour. ‘Tant Que Je Puis’, translating to ‘As much as I can’ in Old French, reflects the school’s ethos of striving for excellence and dedication. We are proud to be a superb ‘comprehensive’ school; all are welcome at Enfield Grammar School – selective by name but NOT by nature!
Our values of PRIDE—Passion, Resilience, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy—guide us in all our actions, helping us develop into well-rounded individuals who are prepared to contribute positively to society.
At EGS, we take pride in ourselves, our school, and our community.
