Vacancy for Site Assistant

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 5, Points 5-7

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Assistant to join our supportive, friendly team at Ely College. You will be responsible for ensuring the site and premises are safe, secure and well-maintained. This will also include completing work in line with the needs of the school, including potential out of hours calls. If you are a handyperson who can provide key service support for smaller inhouse maintenance, come and join our dedicated team!

The opportunity

  • Work as part of a dedicated site team  to ensure maintenance and statutory compliance is kept up to date at all times to ensure a safe and secure school environment
  • Acting as a keyholder to ensure the site, buildings and grounds are opened each day and secured at the end of each day including arming/disarming the security system.
  • Respond to Helpdesk requests for maintenance support from building occupiers through our maintenance and compliance management software tool, iAm Compliant.
  • Using iAm Compliant to report defects and issues identified by you so that they can be recorded and rectified in good time.
  • To take pride in good housekeeping around the site to ensure areas are clear of litter, dirt or rubbish.

  • Committed, reliable, and able to build and sustain excellent working relationships.
  • Can use initiative, and work as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A ‘can do’ focused attitude.
  • Confident in the use of computer systems
  • Has an understanding of Health & Safety best practice principles.
