Elm Academy is a 480 PAN - pupil school which is currently two form entry. Elm joined Ambitions Academy Trust in 2017 and educates Boys and Girls aged between 4 and 11. We have a Nursery onsite called Little Ambers for children aged between 3 and 5.
It is our aim that pupils leave Elm Academy as literate, numerate, confident young people with high aspirations, independent learning skills and a sense of moral responsibility and an appetite for future learning.
At Elm Academy, every child is important and deserves success. We will support to provide a safe learning environment and will nurture your children helping them to build high esteem and encouraging them to achieve their full potential. We aim to build close relationships with each child and adults in our school community and recognise that each child is a unique and precious individual.
At Elm Academy the curriculum will be taught with the consideration of the needs of all learners. Our curriculum will be exciting and will inspire children to nurture a passion for learning. The curriculum provides the perfect mix of knowledge, creativity and skills development to promote excellence and enjoyment of learning. We believe that exciting, engaging lessons, adapted individually to each child’s needs are the best way to ensure every child succeeds. Reading, Writing and Maths are taught daily in our school, ensuring that all children develop the core key skills they will need. These core skills are then applied in other subjects, giving children opportunities to refine, practise and master their knowledge in practical and engaging contexts.
Our Vision.
To ensure outstanding progress for all learners by holding high expectations and challenging all pupils for academic, creative, cultural and social accomplishments with a broad, vibrant and balanced curriculum.
Elm Academy work on the principal that:
“………… the quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teachers.”
Sir Michael Barber
Our Ethos.
Elm Academy demands high expectations for all. In everything Elm Academy does we always refer back to our mantra that encapsulates the belief that Elm Academy must have outstanding teaching and achievement.
A culture of high expectation leads to the highest achievers as we all thrive to better ourselves. Children and staff are challenged and supported to get the best possible outcomes. Children, with the support of their teacher, set themselves goals and targets which they then challenge themselves to meet.
