Eko Pathways

About Eko Pathways

Eko Pathways is an all through social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) school based in Newham, East London. The school has places for between 77 and 112 children and young people, catering for Year 1 to Year 11.

Most children are on full-time placements and maintain a link with their mainstream school. Eko Pathways is located in the heart of Newham and is a new £11.7million purpose built school. The site  features formal and informal classrooms, therapy rooms, a family room, a behaviour support room, food technology and science rooms and a new kitchen and the latest ICT equipment, plus an internal zen garden and a sports hall. The school was graded “Good” at its last Ofsted inspection (November 2022) and the inspectors were impressed by the level of care that our staff show towards pupils and recognised that we do have high expectations for their education and want them to excel beyond their lessons. The inspectors noted that pupils enjoy coming to the school and that our teaching staff have worked hard to develop each pupil’s sense of worth, while having a good understanding of each pupil’s social and emotional needs. The school’s provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs is innovative and successful (Ofsted November 2022).

Learn - Grow - Thrive

We look forward to working with you to get the best out of the children.

Eko Pathways – Mission Statement

'Integrating pupils into mainstream education, the world of work and life’

Eko Pathways is a special school for pupils with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs. It caters for pupils from Years 1 to Year 11 on a brand new purpose build site at Flanders Rd. The school is in the London Borough of Newham, an ethnically diverse inner city area. Pupils are taught in small classes with a high adult to pupil ratio.

Opportunities to work with us

We are very proud of our school and our achievements. How we organise learning, how we excite, enthuse and engage children is the most powerful thing we can do to impact children’s ability to achieve and become lifelong learners. Eko Pathways achieve this through well informed, confident staff, who are able to structure flexible learning opportunities.

Eko Pathways are absolutely focused on learning; be that children or adults. We make sure that learning for all is challenging and well supported. As a result, children and adults achieve things they didn’t think possible.

We are part of a high achieving trust - Eko Trust. Our multi-academy trust has seven schools across East London including another SEMH school named Pathways School. This means on top of the high quality CPD that we offer, all our staff have their own support network with other staff who are on the same journey, working towards the same goals and with a range of different skillsets that you can access whenever you need to.

Our Trust really values its staff and staff wellbeing is central to this. Not only do we invest in the Schools Advisory Service (SAS) which provides confidential wellbeing and medical support and the cycle to work scheme, we also run at least one whole Trust event per year with the focus on learning, team building and having fun together.

If you would like to find out more about what it’s like to work with Eko Trust or visit our brand new purpose-built school and get a feel for what is important to us at Eko Pathways, please get in touch by emailing ekopathwaysinfo@ekotrust.org.uk.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks. Eko Trust supports Equal Opportunities Employment.
