Thank you for joining us on our website and for your interest in Deyes High School. I am both honoured and delighted to be the Head of School and to lead it in our next exciting stage of development. Deyes High School is a Lydiate Learning Trust school serving the community of Maghull and beyond by being a beacon of excellence: a school which opens the doors to opportunity for all its students; a school where there are no limits to ambition.

Deyes High School has a long and successful history of both academic excellence and a supportive, caring culture. We are a vibrant and forward thinking school where teaching and learning is at the centre of all we do. We are a proper school where everyone is welcome and everyone is given the opportunity to thrive and succeed. We are proud of our high standards in every aspect of daily life at Deyes High School. Core values bind our community together and provide us with a common purpose. The challenge is to provide all this and more, to enable the aspirations of our whole community to be realised.

Our vision is clear. We will engage, enable and empower our students by making the process of learning vivid, challenging and enjoyable. We will focus on the development of the whole student, treating each of them with the same kindness, dedication and consideration we would wish for our own children. We will have high expectations of every member of our school community because standards matter. As a result, our polite, enthusiastic and ambitious students develop a love of learning and a passion for subject knowledge which enables them not just to dream about achieving, but to truly succeed.

Deyes High School is an extensive learning community in which we are all active participants. Our subject specialist staff are part of a culture of self improvement which promotes expertise that is infectious in a classroom. Consequently our environment is stimulating and supportive. Our classrooms are dynamic and purposeful. Our school is a happy place to grow and learn, feel valued and respected.

The curriculum we deliver is underpinned by the responsibility we have to prepare our students for college, university, apprenticeship and future employment not only with their exceptional academic results but also their confidence, resilience and citizenship. Deyes High School students will always consider the interests of others as well as themselves. They will always think globally, weighing judiciously how they can effect change for the better. They will always be proud to say that they are part of our school.
