About Derwent Primary School
At Derwent Primary School we have created a friendly, caring and supportive environment that encourages our children to fully learn, develop and share a love of learning. This ethos creates a happy and safe school where all our children are able to make a flying start towards reaching their potential. We are also a values led school where all members of the community are respected. Each month we focus on a different value and celebrate when children demonstrate it, whether inside or outside school.
We are a rapidly expanding school as a result of our recent building developments and completion of our Buttercup Block, which houses our new bespoke KS2 classrooms. We also have a design and technology room, a music studio and a warm and inviting SEN provision room which has exceptional resources to support teaching and learning for our pupils.
In the other part of our building, housing EYFS and KS1, we also now have two nursery classes, Ladybirds for 3 year olds and Caterpillars for 4 year olds.
Our strong, committed governing body fully supports the school in providing the best possible educational opportunities for all.
