We are delighted to welcome you to our school community. We are very proud of our Academy and are committed to continual improvement and achieving the best possible outcomes for our children. Our dedicated team of staff and the wider Trust have one end goal – to enable every child in our Academy to be the best that they can be. Children are at the heart of everything we do.
At Corby Primary Academy, we aim to provide all pupils with a stimulating and inclusive educational environment in which everyone feels safe, respected and supported to grow and develop to their full potential. We encourage our children to develop an internal moral code based on British values and a wish to learn and understand how they can improve their own lives through education and first-hand experiences. It is our mission to support and inspire children to achieve their ambitions and become well-rounded adults that are fully prepared for a purposeful and enriched life in the modern world.
We implement a CLIMB curriculum: collaboration, language, inclusion, memorable and bold. The children are led on a progressive, exciting journey from the time they start with us in Nursery, to the time they leave us in Year 6. Our school values of respect, responsibility and resilience are woven throughout our ambitious curriculum.
Our CLIMB curriculum will:
(L)
Language – We
are committed in our approach to vocabulary. Throughout the Academy, vocabulary
is a highlight of our working walls and each English lesson begins with a
revision of our ‘Word of the Week’. We believe that developing confident,
articulate linguists will allow our pupils to fully immerse themselves in their
learning.
(I)
Inclusion – We
are proud of the breadth of learners we have at Corby Primary. Whether a pupil
speaks a different language or has a Special Educational Need or Disability, we
fully immerse them with scaffolded and ambitious teaching to ensure that all
children make good progress.
(M)
Memorable – We
are acutely aware of the learning that takes place when a pupil is fully
engaged in their learning. Our Teachers plan exciting, interesting lessons that
capture the imagination of our pupils, checking for learning and understanding
through regular ‘Flashbacks’ at the beginning of lessons.
(B) Bold – We encourage our pupils to be
brave during their time at Corby Primary. Whether this be pushing themselves to
complete a particular piece of work, asking questions to deepen their learning
or trying something new for the first time, we expect our pupils to push
themselves out of their comfort zone.
