About Colfe's School
For more than 360 years, we have educated generations of
local families in south-east London. Life at Colfe’s is co‑educational, because
we believe school should reflect the real world. Happiness underpins success
here: we care for our pupils as individuals, creating an environment in which
they feel supported and able to thrive.
Set in a leafy corner of south‑east London, Colfe’s is home
to around 1,300 pupils across our junior and senior schools. Established in
1652, we are proud of our long history without being defined by it. Our ethos
is that of a real‑world school: ambitious, outward facing and firmly rooted in
our local community.
From the very first day a child joins us, we focus on
preparing them for life beyond Colfe’s. Our mission is to inspire curiosity,
enthusiasm, ambition and a genuine love of learning. Colfe’s pupils grow into
well‑rounded, confident and happy individuals, each contributing something
unique to the school community.
Academic standards are high and outcomes are consistently
excellent. Pupils achieve results well above the national average at GCSE and A-level,
opening doors to a wide range of opportunities. The vast majority of leavers go
on to their first‑choice university, including Oxbridge, medical school,
Russell Group universities and leading specialist institutions. We also offer a
range of scholarship opportunities, including the fully funded, means‑tested
Leatherseller Scholarship Programme for Sixth Form students.
Beyond the classroom, we place equal emphasis on pastoral
care and enrichment. Pupils benefit from leadership opportunities, UK and
international trips, and a broad co‑curricular programme spanning sport, music,
drama and the arts. Our exceptional on‑site facilities - including extensive
green space, a performing arts centre, a sports centre with swimming pool,
additional playing fields and a dedicated forest school for our youngest pupils
