Claybrooke is part of the Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust, and we work closely with the other schools in our Trust for the benefit of all of our pupils.
Set within the rural Leicestershire countryside between Lutterworth and Hinckley, Claybrooke Primary School is a small school that serves the villages of Claybrooke Magna and Claybrooke Parva and the surrounding area. Built in 1814, the school is set in attractive grounds with a large field and a spinney. The main building is Victorian and over the last few years we have completed several building projects to further expand the school accommodation to include a new classroom, first aid room, Head’s office, office, entrance and staff room.
We have approximately 75 children on roll, housed in the original building, which dates back to 1814, as well as a newer purpose-built classroom. We also have our own school hall, extensive grounds and a smart multi-use games area and climbing trail at the front of the school.
Our vision at Claybrooke is ‘Together We Flourish’ . Our values are the things that we hold dear, that will help us achieve our vision. Alongside our Vision statement of ‘Together we Flourish’, our values expect all members of our school community to be:
Respectful - Compassionate - Inclusive - Truthful - Collaborative
We are fortunate enough to have a separate hall that we use for PE, assemblies and the provision of school dinners.
Our school caters for children aged 4-11 years and our catchment area includes Claybrooke Parva, Claybrooke Magna, High Cross and Wibtoft, although we do also have many children from “out of catchment”. Children join us in the Autumn term following their 4th birthday and the majority will transfer to Lutterworth High School or Lutterworth College once they leave us at the age of 11 years of age.
Our children are split between three mixed-age classes. Class organisation is flexible and variable each year due to fluctuating numbers in year groups, with the decision on class arrangements being made during the summer term.
We provide a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities. We have offered cross country, football, netball, cricket, rugby, multi-sports, cooking, chess, eco and newspaper clubs - though not all at the same time!
Children are also able to learn to play a variety of musical instruments as part of the music curriculum. Children have learnt how to play the ukelele, recorder and, more recently, Indian drums!
