Cheney School is a Secondary School in Oxford, a school that has been part of the life and education of Oxford since 1797. The school’s success is built on traditional values, as well as progressive thinking. We have high expectations of all students and place a very high value on making sure every student reaches their full potential. Academic excellence is the main focus of our work here at Cheney and many of our students go on to study at the best universities across the country. We believe in facilitating our students’ personal development by offering a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities as well as delivering excellent pastoral care to support them through their school life.
What People Say About Us.......
"I appreciate the way my teachers push me to work out answers for myself, motivate and engage me in my own education. At Cheney, I have had experiences, made friendships and challenged myself in a way I otherwise would not have done."
Alice, student
"It is great to see that all students are given the opportunity to excel, whether it is in Mathematics, Sport, Drama, Music or French and that all these subjects are treated equally.”
Parent of pupil
"I love this school because right from the start I was able to make many friends and learn to be more independent. On my first day I was very nervous but this school has helped me be more myself. It challenges me in areas I am not one hundred per cent comfortable with.”
