About Chantry Primary Academy
I am
honoured and delighted to introduce myself as the Headteacher of Chantry
Primary Academy. Having served as the Head of School for two years prior to
taking up headship, it is with great enthusiasm that I take the school on an
exciting journey alongside our exceptional school community.
We
had our most recent visit from Ofsted inspection in June 2023 which recognised
that “Chantry Primary Academy is a
school where pupils are happily ‘learning for life’. The school’s values of
aspiration, respect, unity, integrity, independence, enjoyment and quality are
practised in the daily lives of the pupils.” In addition, inspectors found that “The behaviour of older pupils is exemplary.
This is particularly evident during their lessons, where they remain focused
and engaged in their learning.” Recognising
the commitment to our staff team, inspectors found that “Staff appreciate the support leaders give them. They recognise that
leaders care about their well-being and workload and have therefore put systems
in place to support them. Consequently, staff overwhelmingly enjoy working in
this school.”
Our
School
Chantry
is a 3 form entry school with 90 Reception places available each year. In
addition, we have 78 places for children aged 3 - 4 in our Nursery, offering
both 15 hour and 30 hour placements with a full wraparound childcare facility
from 7:35am to 6pm.
Chantry
is a successful school which is a unique and exciting place to be. Our
school ethos is built upon our values – aspiration, quality, unity, respect,
integrity, enjoyment and independence. With high expectations and
standards, we believe that Chantry offers an excellent educational experience
for our pupils. Children succeed at
Chantry thanks to high quality learning experiences provided by our extensive
and dedicated team. Children also enjoy our creative approach to learning
and feel secure in our caring school environment.
Our
curriculum is built around three key principles – High Quality Literature,
Experiential Learning and the firm belief that ‘Every Child Can’. Children learn through an innovative book
based curriculum, taking part in experiences and activities in our
'wow-factors' which help to create a unique learning experience for our
pupils.
We are
a highly inclusive school with high expectations coupled with a commitment to
SEND friendly approaches to ensure that children have their needs met. Staff have excellent relationships with
parents and carers to ensure that children are effectively supported in their
learning and in their lives. We have an
excellent reputation of working effectively to support pupils with SEND and we
provide high quality support children of all abilities with a specialist staff
team to support up to 17 children with visual impairments. We also work
with local schools to provide support for up to 8 children who have additional
behavioural needs.
As a
member of the Pioneer Learning Trust, we work closely with our family of
schools to We support one another in a range of ways, including the
sharing of good practice, staff training and even some of our resources. We also work closely with other local Trusts
and partner schools.
Our
Mission
At
Chantry we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence and our desire that
pupils develop a thirst for knowledge of the world around them. We celebrate
the diversity and individuality of our pupils, staff and community, meeting
everyone’s needs through our values-based ethos and culture.
We
offer
• A
school with excellent leadership, driven by our core values and a firm belief
that all children have the right to the best education

diverse population of hard working pupils with ‘exemplary behaviour’ (Ofsted
2023)

will love it as much as we do and we pride ourselves on our warm and friendly
