About this Role

At Castlebridge School we provide a creative and nurturing space for 30 pupils aged 7 - 16. Primarily we support those with autism who have faced challenges in mainstream education and may have developed strategies of school/ learning avoidance. We are a proud member off the Special Partnership Trust, a dynamic collaboration of specialist provisions throughout the South-West, focused on fostering excellence in education for all pupils, no matter what their challenge.

We are looking for as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and help bring learning to life - supporting teachers, leading sessions and helping pupils achieve meaningful progress every single day. What the Job Involves?

As a HLTA , you will:

Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning alongside teaching staff.
Lead small groups and whole-class sessions, including during short-term teacher absences.
Create engaging resources and adapt activities to meet diverse pupil needs.
Build positive, supportive relationships that boost confidence, social skills and independence.
Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, communication, and engagement in learning.
Contribute to assessments, observations, and progress tracking using systems such as White Rose and Arbor
Work collaboratively with families and multi-agency professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
Participate in off-site learning opportunities, trips and community-based experiences.

What You'll Bring?

We’re looking for someone who is:

Qualified and confident, with HLTA status (or equivalent experience) and good English and Maths skills.
Experienced in supporting children — ideally those with special educational needs.
Calm, positive, and adaptable when managing challenging situations or unexpected changes.
Skilled in communication, both written and verbal, and comfortable using digital learning systems.
A team player who is enthusiastic, reflective, and committed to providing the very best for our pupils.
Reliable and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping young people grow and succeed.
Ideally a driver, with a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, to support off-site learning, home visits and wider school activities (desirable, but not essential)
