About Boasley Cross Community Primary School

Welcome

Boasley Cross Primary Schools is a thriving crossroads school, which serves the village of Bratton Clovelly and the surrounding area. Our school is set in stunning grounds with a panoramic view of open countryside including the Northern edge of Dartmoor with it’s amazing tors. Although the village is 3 miles away, we have excellent links with our community and strongly value the family atmosphere within our school.

Boasley Cross currently has 37 pupils on roll aged 3-11, the majority of whom transition onto Okehampton College. In January 2018, we converted into a multi-academy trust, the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, which offers wider links, with a total of 17 schools including 3 secondary schools, providing opportunities to share expertise. We are part of the Moorland Hub along with Bridestowe, Lydford and Northlew Primary schools. We were excited to announce that in September 2018, our pre-school opened and caters for children from 3 years old.

Our main school building houses Oketor class, Y3-6In a separate building, we have Littlemoor class, Pre-School/EYFS/Y1-2We are proud of our outdoor spaces and approach to outdoor learningOutside the main school building there is a large playground, a forest school ‘wild learning’ area, a sensory garden, adventure play equipment with willow domes, a small forest area and a large sports field.

We would welcome your interest in joining us as a member of staff. As part of the Dartmoor Multi-Academy Trust, not only will you have a supportive and collaborative work environment with plenty of opportunities for professional development and growth, but you will also have access to an array of benefits as follows:

 Smart Clinic/APL

As part of the Trusts commitment to creating and sustaining a healthy working environment for all team members, we have put in place a range of benefits and programmes designed to support peoples physical, mental and social health. The Smart Clinic is a specialist provider of occupational health and corporate well-being packages to DMAT. Their services ensures that our colleagues have access to market leading support, quickly, and conveniently.

 Cycle to Work Scheme

Cycle scheme is an employee benefit that saves you 25-39% on a bike and accessories. You pay nothing upfront and the payments are taken tax efficiently from your salary by your employer. You choose a bike, hire it for an agreed time, then wind its value down to a negligible amount. It's like a year-round sale, with interest free credit available in over 2,600 retailers nationwide.

 Tech Scheme

The Tech scheme enables you to buy the best tech in a convenient way. You save between 2-12% depending on your rate of tax and spread the cost over 12 payments. It’s like a year-round sale with interest free credit. Choose products from Currys and now IKEA and once you've applied on the Tech Scheme website with your employer code and this has been set up with your employer, you will receive a redemption code to use online or in-store.

Local Government Pension Scheme (Peninsula Pensions)

The LGPS is a national pension scheme for people working in local government or working for other employers that participate in the scheme. The LGPS is one of the largest pension schemes in the UK. It is a defined benefit pension scheme which means your pension is based on your salary and how long you pay into the Scheme. Your pension is not affected by how well investments perform. The LGPS provides you with a secure and guaranteed income every year when you stop working.

 Members Hub | Teachers Pension

As a member of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, you’re contractually enrolled into the Scheme from day one. You receive a guaranteed pension through the Teachers' Pension Scheme. It's a defined benefit scheme, registered with HM Revenue and Customs, based on your salary and service rather than investments - so there'll be no nasty surprises when you come to claim your pension. Your pension will be a regular source of income when you retire - but you can also take some of it as a tax-free lump sum. You'll join the career average arrangement and accrue benefits each year based on 1/57th of your pensionable salary including overtime.
