About Bloxham Grove

Bloxham Grove Academy is a brand-new special free school which opened in a new purpose-built building in January 2024.  We are fortunate in having first-class facilities, a state-of-the-art building, and excellent outdoor spaces in a rural location, providing us with a very special environment for our community to use and enjoy. The academy provides exemplary education and care for students with Cognition and Learning needs, Autism Spectrum Condition, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.  We currently have 77 students on roll, and by 2027, Bloxham Grove will have 100 students on roll between the ages of 7 to 18 across Key Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5.

We offer our students a place where they can learn the skills they need to thrive in their education. We encourage our students to gain confidence and independence to help them with the next stages of their learning. We prioritise students’ skills for life and preparation for adulthood through our curriculum which is interwoven with our three fundamentals:

1. Cultural Capital: we aim for our students to be exposed to the best that has been thought, said and created.  As such we aim for culture to be brought into the school as well as planning rich experiences to learn outside of the classroom
2. Personal Development: we aim to give our students lots of opportunities to foster independence and to have workplace readiness including having effective social interactions and confident life skills
3. Being Active and Healthy: we aim for our students to learn how to be active and healthy young people who are given lots of opportunities to learn in the outdoors

Our school culture and ethos are driven by Restorative Approaches which is the bedrock of the school. Everything we do each and every day is guided by our Restore Model which is our approach to supporting all members of our community to work with each other with respect and kindness.

Vision and Values

Together we decided that the values that mattered to us most as a community are honesty, trust, respect, welcoming, kindness and resilience: these values are embedded in our school culture and are noticed by visitors who comment on the ethos and feeling of community which has been created in such a short time.
