Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (BVGS) is one of Britain’s oldest and most respected educational institutions, founded in 1527 by Bishop John Vesey. Today, we stand as the oldest state school in the West Midlands, renowned for our heritage, academic ambition, and forward‑looking educational culture. 

As a selective state grammar school with academy status, BVGS educates boys aged 11–16 and offers a thriving co‑educational Sixth Form. Our community includes over 1,450 students and approximately 120 dedicated staff, all contributing to a culture defined by excellence and ambition.
