Who are we?

We are a heavily oversubscribed, Church of England stand-alone Academy Trust with over 1450 students - 400 of whom are in the Sixth Form.

We are a school whose core values: Faith – Justice – Responsibility – Truth – Compassion inform all the decisions that we take.

We are a school where character and academic development go hand in hand.  We strive to ensure that students leave us happy and healthy, with a strong moral compass as well as with qualifications which have integrity.

We are a school that enhances life chances - our examination results place us consistently in the top performing schools in the country as well as locally, both at GCSE and A Level. All students, including those who are socially disadvantaged and those with Special Educational Needs, perform significantly above national averages.

We are a school full of joy and vibrancy – flourishing music, drama and sport, community engagement, a breath-taking array of clubs and societies for students to join and a broad and exciting offer of trips and visits locally, nationally and internationally. 

We are a school where about 85% students stay on from GCSE to study A Levels with us; almost 90% go on to study at degree level.

We are a school with a staff team of about 200, with a wide range of experience and specialisms. All teachers are subject specialists.
