At Batley Grammar School we aim to nurture young people in a caring educational environment, enabling them to grow into confident, respectful, independent and successful learners. In doing so, equipping them with the depth of character and enthusiasm necessary to aspire, thrive and prosper in future academic and wider social endeavours.
We provide high quality education for both boys and girls of primary and secondary ages, from reception through to Year 11. This continuity allows collaboration to share expertise, knowledge and best practice to ensure academic and pastoral excellence throughout our schools.
Our curriculum focuses on supporting all aspects of the learner experience to ensure that we are actively promoting good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills and developing key character traits, which, along with strong academic success, ensure our learners are prepared for the next step in their journey either in education or beginning their career.
The school opened its doors in 1612, and the strength of the school has always been in its ability to adapt to the changing environment, and to evolve accordingly. We are a multi-cultural community and value harmony, tolerance and understanding for others, respecting and celebrating differences.
