Welcome to Barry Primary and Nursery School
We are a warm, welcoming school with a dedicated staff and governors who are committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential , academically, socially and emotionally.
This is reflected in our school motto, Together we care, learn and grow.
At Barry Primary we believe that every child should have the opportunity to succeed in life. We provide them with the knowledge and skills they need for success throughout primary school and into secondary school and beyond. We achieve this by focusing on the whole child, making sure that their wellbeing, social and emotional development is at the core of all we do.
We are a two-form entry entry school, with 60 pupils in each year group from Reception to Year 6. Our wonderful on-site nursery welcomes children from the age of three, and offers the opportunity for the children to progress to Reception and continue with us until the end of Year 6.
Our site is deceptively spacious with three separate buildings; Nursery, Main building (Reception to Year 3) and Annexe (Year 4 to Year 6). Our nursery boasts its own forest area and large outside learning space. We also have additional facilities that include a purpose-built sports hall, AstroTurf, field and music room.
Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) is a key feature of our playground, with children having access to a range of play activities during their break times. These include a sandpit, mud kitchen, water play, scooters, climbing frame, slide, toys and small world play.
Above all, our hardworking and highly committed team is absolutely dedicated to ensuring the children in our care receive the best possible education in a friendly and wholeheartedly supportive environment. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with pupils, parents and the wider community so that we can work collaboratively to ensure that by the end of their journey with us, pupils are ready for the next stage of their education, act respectfully at all times and are safe in their actions towards others and themselves.
