INTRODUCTION FROM THE HEADTEACHER

I am the Headteacher of Arlecdon Primary school; I feel exceptionally fortunate to have the opportunity to work in this wonderful school.

Arlecdon Primary school is a vibrant village school where every child is valued, respected and supported. We know our students well and learning is tailored to ensure that each child achieves their potential and beyond. We have very high expectations and standards to enable our children to be given the best possible opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Core subjects are an incredibly important part of school, however we understand the importance of developing children’s interests in every area of the curriculum. Staff are passionate about providing opportunities for children to learn about the world around them, a new language, the arts and a wide variety of sports. We want to foster a life-long love of learning with exciting life experiences in every area of the curriculum and beyond.

We want learning to be fun and put our children’s happiness at the centre of everything we do.

We work to prepare our children for their future education and raise aspirations and broaden horizons. We develop resilient children who have self-belief and face new challenges and experiences with confidence and excitement. We work on developing our children’s social conscience, their understanding and appreciation of difference and diversity and the impact they can have on society.

We have strong partnerships between school and home and we believe this is of the utmost importance. This close partnership between teachers and parents help children feel safe and secure at school, developing a sense of well-being and achievement. A happy child will learn well and reach his or her true potential.

Staff work hard and support one another. Collaboration is a key focus; ensuring we share the expertise and knowledge of staff to benefit every child.

Our schools are well resourced and we have excellent access to technology and support staff to assist with this. We have a positive approach to mental health and wellbeing and ensure we champion this.
